"The high quality of both artistic and story presentation with Dennis Hassell and team left me feeling I could be watching any award-winning stage show in Toronto or New York. It’s incredible that Canadians have the opportunity to bring Solitary Refinement into their churches and schools, and they should run to book this opportunity across all generations.  I am promoting this as a "must see" by all audiences needing the story of Christian persecution past and present, and for those who need to be educated about the reality of faith flourishing amid persecution.  I left as a stronger person as a result of watching Solitary Refinement."

I am Romanian and a pastor. I know the story well, and you have told it wonderfully. I loved seeing the effect on our congregation.

Thank you so much for honouring Richard (Wurmbrand) and his family. This production was so worthy of the history. The "fourth wall" between actor and audience dissolved, and I was kept inside the story.

We get a broad variety of performers at our theater. Your performance, and your people, are top drawer.

Right now in over 50 countries there are tens of thousands of Christians being persecuted for their faith, many giving their lives. The outstanding production of Solitary Refinement is just the antidote for our complacency and ignorance. Actor Dennis Hassell portrays the compelling story of Richard Wurmbrand with a stunning performance. This is a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity. Don't miss it.

Something happened inside me during the performance. Since the death of my father, I have been feeling disconnected with God, alone. I was pulled into the story, and I found hope. I want to come back to this church next week.

A transformative journey for the audience. The range of the actor is phenomenal.  In my memory, our church has not had a Sunday evening event with such impact. Old and young were laughing and crying.  This is the power of a true mission.

I am from Pakistan. My church and I have been in just such a fiery furnace.
When you told the story of persecution today, you also told my story. So many people in Canada do not believe me; but tonight, I saw everyone believe.

It was an immense pleasure to host Solitary Refinement... I am receiving nothing but positive feedback from our leadership and congregants. Health and weather challenges seemed to be only secondary as the actor was able to forge ahead – a true professional.  God bless you all in giving a voice to those suffering for the sake of the Gospel.

I was once put in solitary confinement for 100 straight days, and when the play began in darkness and silence, every fibre in my being screamed at me to leave. But God said, "Stay. I got you through imprisonment and I will get you through this." I cannot describe how blessed I was.

Excellent, almost unbelievable presentation of Richard Wurmbrand's experiences under Soviet oppression. VOM presented past and present very well.

Wow. The music and sound effects, the lighting, the visual effects, and the performer, all united as a story, and I entered the story. As the character says, "What I experienced was UN-imaginable." Sign me up for the newsletter.

Saw this tonight. I would not have been able to imagine how effective this presentation would be. I echo the comments above – I saw artistic excellence and a strong spiritual exhortation. So thankful I had the privilege.

When I was helping set up the stage, I could not imagine how the set, lighting, video, music,  sound effects, even the haze,  would all combine with the character.  It was really cool.

The stories of persecution came alive in a very real way – deepening my resolve to walk in Jesus' footsteps, to stand for Truth, and to stand with my sisters and brothers whose cries for help are far too often ignored.

Hi Dennis. Thank you so much for performing Solitary Refinement at Walmer last night. It was a big show for a small audience. But I want you to know how much I appreciated it from beginning to end, and how impactful I found it. Know that I'll be praying for you as you tour.

Thank you so very much for a truly God-inspired one-man play. The reality of our precious Redeemer and His great, great love for us. The height, length, width and depth. "They were convinced that One died for all" (2 Corinthians 5:12).

The Solitary Refinement production was very eye-opening and informative. The guests who joined me were also immensely blessed. It presented the difficult topic of persecution in a positive way. (The comic relief in-between the more sobering aspects of this compelling story really lifted one's spirit). Plus, the glorious side of suffering that was revealed later on in the presentation ignited great consolation and hope. Highly recommended!

Thank you for letting us know about the play.... It was pretty awesome. A great presenter and actor but, more importantly, a message that needs to be heard. I am so glad we got to see this – and I pray that many, many more will as it goes across Canada.
