The Vision of VOMC

Across generations and around the world, the church has been strengthened by believers who faithfully bear witness to Christ amid suffering. Their testimony of enduring faith reminds us that we are not isolated communities, but one body – called to remember, stand with and encourage one another in the hope that remains through every trial.
As CEO of Voice of the Martyrs Canada, clarifying our mission, values, vision and purposes has been a key priority throughout the past year as we seek to walk faithfully in God's calling. Through prayerful reflection and discernment, we have developed a renewed Vision Statement that will help us listen together, move forward with greater clarity and purpose, and remain steadfast in our commitment to those who suffer for Christ.
We believe this vision will strengthen our unity as an organization while enabling us to serve the persecuted church with renewed compassion, courage and faithfulness. I invite you to read the announcement below and join us in praying that God would use this vision to strengthen His church.

Announces New Vision Statement
Voice of the Martyrs Canada (VOMC) is pleased to announce the adoption of a new organizational Vision Statement, approved by its Board of Directors on June 19th, 2026.
Inspired by Hebrews 13:3, the new vision reflects the heart of VOMC's ministry and the Biblical calling to stand alongside persecuted Christians as members of one global body of Christ:
“One church, united in suffering;
one voice, strengthened in fellowship;
one hope, rooted in Christ.”
While VOMC's mission remains unchanged – continuing its commitment to “actively remembering and serving the ‘church persecuted’” – the new vision provides a clearer picture of the future impact this mission is designed to achieve.
A Vision of the Church
The new vision is built upon three enduring Biblical truths:
- Suffering unites us.
- Fellowship strengthens us.
- Hope in Christ sustains us.
Together, these truths express a vision of the church that shares one another's burdens and bears witness to the unity, love and endurance that flow from our common life in Christ. As CEO Floyd Brobbel explains:
“Our prayer is that Christians would see persecuted believers not as distant strangers, but as fellow members of the same body of Christ. When one part of the body suffers, we all suffer; when one part is strengthened, the whole body is strengthened. This vision captures the future we are working toward together.”
Looking Ahead
As VOMC continues to serve persecuted Christians and equip the church in Canada to respond, this vision will help guide the ministry's programs, partnerships and priorities. More importantly, it invites the wider church to live out the reality of Hebrews 13:3 – standing together as one body, sharing in suffering, strengthening one another through fellowship, and holding fast to the hope found in Jesus Christ.
