Bhutan: "From the Dust" - John Monger's story
Bhutan: "From the Dust" - John Monger's story
John Monger came to faith in Jesus when a 14-year-old boy gave him a booklet about the love of Jesus. Having grown up in Bhutan, which is a predominantly Buddhist nation, John's decision to follow Jesus cost him greatly. Not only did his opposing family order him to leave the home, the Bhutanese government also persecuted him for becoming a Christian. John ended up at a refugee camp in Nepal where he shared the Gospel. While there, John and some of his friends were arrested for evangelizing, spending 15 months in prison where they were tortured for refusing to deny Jesus. Find out how The Voice of the Martyrs Canada has helped John and his friends, enabling them to continue their amazing ministry today!

- Pray for Bhutan
Pray that Bhutan's young leader, King Jigme Khesar Namgyel Wangchuck, will hear and respond to the Gospel of Jesus Christ and find true peace in Him.
Ask God to increase the believers' witness in their communities, giving them the ability to lovingly oppose the ongoing pressure to engage in traditional Buddhist prayers and practices.
Ask the Lord to provide for them, especially in cases where basic necessities are denied. Pray that they will also have all the resources they need to grow in Him.
