Turkey: Andrew Brunson's Testimony
Turkey: Andrew Brunson's Testimony
In October 2016, following a failed coup attempt against the Turkish government, authorities arrested Pastor Andrew Brunson along with tens of thousands of military personnel, civil servants, educators, journalists and dissidents. Pastor Brunson, who led a small church in Izmir, became a pawn in a geopolitical chess game. As a result, he spent two years in a Turkish prison before being released in October 2018. After his release, Pastor Brunson became the focus of worldwide media attention. He recounts the story of his ordeal in the book, God’s Hostage, which was published in late 2019.

- Pray for Turkey
Prayerfully uphold those who have had their churches and places of worship taken over by a government that does not represent their beliefs, values or ordinances. Ask the Lord to oversee the mediation process as church officials and government representatives endeavour to work out a solution that is both honouring to Him and fair to all the members of the various churches. Despite the challenges experienced by the believers of this country, may they have a sense of God's reassuring presence and peace, knowing that one day He will reign supremely and justly over the entire earth.
