From the Sidelines to the Frontlines | Greg Musselman

Greg serves as Minister at Large for Voice of the Martyrs Canada.

Throughout his life, Greg has always had a tendency to eagerly strive towards the next goal, whether it relates to his broadcasting career, ministry or family. While it’s wise to look ahead and plan, he has learned that it’s also good to take time to reflect on how the details of our lives have unfolded. In doing so, Greg began to realize that Someone far greater than life’s circumstances – with a much broader view – was guiding his steps long before he decided to enter into a relationship with the God of the universe.

As Greg looks back on his life, he can more clearly see how the Holy Spirit was sovereignly leading him and, at times, even intervening when he got off track. He will be forever grateful for the Lord’s guidance, love and patience, and for allowing him the incredible privilege of serving the Kingdom! For a young man who initially wanted to be a rock-and-roll radio announcer in his hometown of Vancouver, he didn’t realize at the time how broadcasting would eventually play a key role in God’s calling on his life. Although Greg’s dream was to have a successful broadcasting career, which began as a television sports anchor and reporter, along the way something happened: Jesus came into his life, and a higher purpose was born.

For over two-and-a-half decades now, Greg has been working with Voice of the Martyrs Canada through which he interviewed hundreds of followers of Jesus who were being persecuted for their faith. While many of their stories are tragic, he has also discovered that God works miraculously amid persecution and suffering. In retrospect, Greg is so grateful that he received that new assignment years ago, which has taken him from the sidelines – broadcasting all kinds of sporting events – to the frontlines by providing multi-media reports on the persecuted church. He prays his journey will encourage you in your own adventure with Jesus!
